Inspiration and Inerrancy

Just musing about the two.
The promise of Jesus’ sending the Holy Spirit was that He would guide us into truth ( John 16:12-15 ). This seems to be a promise that the Spirit would inspire and guide those who wrote the New Testament Scriptures.
If this is indeed a promise of inspiration, we must ask the question of how inspired Scripture could contain that which is not true.
If we declare that it contains things which are inspired, yet not true, we must deny the words of Jesus, if indeed He is speaking of inspiration in this text.

Errantists would co-opt our terminology and say that Scripture is incarnational because He condescended to our foibles. Silly.
