Alleged Biblical Inconsistencies

GE 17:1, 35:11, 1CH 29:11-12, LK 1:37 God is omnipotent. Nothing is impossible with (or for) God.
JG 1:19 Although God was with Judah, together they could not defeat the plainsmen because the latter had iron chariots.

The reality is not that God and Judah together were unable to drive out the plainsmen.  In fact, the issue is not even all about Judah’s inability to drive out the plains

The issue is a combination of two things:
1.  The historical perspective that Judah could not immediately drive out the plainsmen

2.  The fact that God said that He would not give them all of the land immediately.  (See EX 23:30)  (This explains the “why” of #1.)

This is not a verse that can be used to show that the Bible is inconsistent.  The Bible is indeed consistent.

This explanation should remind us of   things:
1.  The need for a look at the whole context of Scripture

2.  A recognition of varied perspectives that can all be correct

3.  The need to approach Scripture with reverence instead of seeking errors and making a fool of one’s self while doing so.
